With the introduction of the new NHS Pharmacy First service, we have introduced a comprehensive face-to-face training programme, tailored to equip pharmacists with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively develop patient care, within the scope of the service. We cover ear examination using an otoscope and throat examination in our sessions.
Our training programme will cover:
Provide a detailed understanding of the new NHS Pharmacy First service, its objectives, and the role of community pharmacies in delivering healthcare.
Providing the service requires pharmacists to engage with the patient, and offer advice and NHS-funded treatment via Patient-Group Directions (PGDs)
Train on proper documentation practices, emphasizing the importance of accurate and confidential record-keeping for patient care and regulatory compliance.
Highlight the collaborative aspect of the NHS Pharmacy First service, encouraging effective communication and coordination with other healthcare providers for holistic patient care.
Stress the importance of staying updated on the latest guidelines, and any changes to the Pharmacy First service to maintain a high standard of care.
